Indigo Ikat

I stumbled upon doing my first indigo ikat warp while weaving the middle of this project.  While an end on end construction is more complicated, I kept coming back to my inspiration wall where that sample of a dye transitioning between colors held my attention.  It wasn’t long afterwards that I committed to dipping in indigo for the full, graphic effect.

Since July was the month of fading warps, I was eager to see the indigo fading pillows translated to scarves.  Along the way were more happy accidents that of course felt much more panicked in the moment.  Those “mistakes” always turn out to be my favorites in the end.

More details will be released on this series when I return to Brooklyn at the end of August for our pre-sale!
