Over the course of my textile career, I’ve gathered so many recycled yarns that my studio is currently overrun. I decided to take a break from organic materials, and use up some stock to make one-off small wall hangings as an intro to weaving as art. Here are a few experiments with VERY small quantities of yarn including ikat dyed silk, plastic-coated wire of sorts, paper or linen-like yarn, and several of the mysterious-content-variety. It was a nice break from creating intentional pieces and led to some lovely hand-manipulated textures for later use. Sometimes we all need a little time to play.
