Naturally Dyed Stripe

I’ve toyed with the idea of creating piece dyed stripes for over a year now.  When I moved to the dye trial sampling phase, it was a pretty quick decision to completely avoid the 1/8-1/4″ stripes.  No one needs the mental meltdown caused by the monotony of changing shuttles every two picks.  No one.  I used a combination of organic cotton with a mysterious yarn currently identified as ramie from Japan.  The two yarns create a very subtle stripe in their loomstate, and a contrasting stripe once out of the dye pot.  I may explore these in the future, but only if I’ve committed to adding a fly shuttle to my armory of weaving tools.  Until then…
