This is a development test for new black linen warp yarns I’m trying out. Since naturally dyeing an organic cotton warp to black is a bit too time consuming and expensive, I decided to source some dyed black linen instead to see if it can be soft enough for apparel use. Wefts are varied from silk to alpaca, wool, and organic cotton. Some patterning was expected, most was a lovely surprise of textures and “happy accidents” that weaving lends itself to so often.
